Who would you ‘take the knee’ for’

The Foreign Secretary has said he would not "take a knee" in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, arguing that the protest is "a matter of personal choice".

Asked on Thursday whether he would take part in the symbolic show of support, Dominic Raab said on Thursday: "I take the knee for two people; the Queen and the Mrs when I asked her to marry me." The Independant Thursday 18th June 10:30

So here is my question. Who would you take the knee to? I understand the symbolism of ‘taking the knee’ to demonstrate disgust at how black people have been treated. I agree they we must all stand up for the dignity of every human being. Whether they are born and unborn, young and old, whatever their mental state, social status, colour or race we must do this.

We are all created in the image of God and our creator, God, teaches in His word that we should ‘love our neighbour as ourself’.

My post is written to ask you two questions.

1. Do you and will you respect people created in the image of God?,

2. Do you and will you respect the God who created all of us?

The Bible teaches that we all need a change of heart to answer both of these questions correctly.

This is because we have ALL sinned and come short of the glory of God. In the biblical gospel God offers forgiveness because He has provided salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. Christ died for our sins, he was buried and rose to live again three days later.

As I close may I remind you that we will all ‘take the knee’ to our creator at some stage. Either in this life or in the next. I have noted two passages from the Bible that make this clear.

God bless you today. Remember to love your neighbour and remember to love your creator and respond to his offer of forgiveness.

Stephen

Isaiah 45:22-23

Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

Romans 14:11-12

For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
